“What do bicycles have to do with pens? Nothing. There is only one memory that particularly binds me to the Workshop programme. My grandfather Renato had a real mechanical workshop with lathes and milling machines with which he built bicycles by hand. In the early 1950s, with the advent of motorcycles in a very hilly area like ours, it ceased its activity. A few years later, at the age of about 10, I was able to get hold of an old wooden box containing metal objects of the strangest shapes. For a few years that was my treasure, which I also tried to keep hidden. In November 1999 I happened upon a modern mechanical workshop and browsing here and there I saw exactly, 40 years later, the same fascinating objects with such beautiful shapes that they intrigued me even more. This is how Officina – Writing utensils was born.»
The '4 tempi' (four-stroke) is an original product that can be easily transformed into four different writing instruments: ballpoint pen or roller, 5.5 mm pencil, or fountain pen.
